Caleb had a cold and a runny nose this week, so we didn't venture out too much, especially because there were some really windy days bound to worsen his condition.  As a result, we had to find things to do inside.  Here are a few pictures I took of our indoor play time, which included building forts, lining up and counting Jonah's matchbox cars, separating the cars into different colors, and driving the cars down the couch cushion racetrack:
And now that Jonah has gone through the alphabet and learned the letters and sounds (for the most part), we have begun working on writing his letters.  Auntie Am gave us some little chalkboards from her classroom that she doesn't use anymore, so we've put them to good use.  Again, we're starting with consonants, and here's Jonah's first attempt at writing the letter b.  I guided his hand for the big one and the middle one on the bottom, but other than that, he wrote the rest totally by himself.  I'm pretty proud of him!!!

This week Grandpa and Grandma came to town, and due to their visit we had many activities!  They came and spent Tuesday and Wednesday with our boys so Luke and I could go to Frankenmuth for the night, and that was wonderful.  It's the first time we've ever left the kids overnight actually.  Jonah and Caleb had a great time with Grandpa and Grandma.  They played in the leaves, threw tennis balls with Grandpa, and just had quality time together.

On Friday, while Caleb spent most of the day with Aunt Maria, I took Jonah out to Greenfield Village with Grandpa and Grandma, where Aunt Am and Miss Marlee were spending the day with their students on an annual field trip.  I had never been there before, and it was really a neat place.  Jonah is still a little too young to appreciate it, but he still had a great time with his grandparents and auntie.

So I put together a little slideshow here from the whole week.  You'll see pics with Grandpa and Grandma, just hanging out at the condo.  Also, there are a few of Luke & I in Frankenmuth, and then some from Greenfield Village.  I hope you enjoy them all!

What's the next best thing to raking leaves?

Sweeping them!  Since we have no yard, we resorted this weekend to sweeping leaves into a big pile in the road behind our condo.  The boys loved it.  We haven't really experienced fall over the past 4 years (for me and 6 years for Luke), so it has been awesome to watch the leaves change color and fall from the trees.  When we were living in FL, Luke's mom would send him a box of leaves every fall because she knew how much he missed it... it's nice that she doesn't have to do it now as we are experiencing this very beautiful season for ourselves!  Here's a little slideshow of pictures we took over the weekend:

I just got another picture from Pop, and I had to post it... Jonah is so blessed to have a Godmother like her!

As I mentioned in my last post, we had a visit this weekend from Grammy & Pop, and Auntie Teresa.  They arrived Thursday afternoon and stayed until Sunday morning.  In that time, we packed in as many activities as possible.  On Friday, they took both the kids to Jungle Java and then out for an ice cream treat.  On Saturday, we went out to Hartland, where we drove by the farmhouse we're trying to buy and then to a cider mill not too far away.  It was chilly outside, but the kids thoroughly enjoyed being there, and so did the rest of us.  Here are some pictures from our weekend... enjoy!

Jonah and I are still going through the alphabet, which we started last year.  We kind of stopped over the summer due to all of our moving around, but now we're back in the swing of things.  This week we are working on the letter Q, and today we built one with Jonah's blocks.  After we get through the alphabet, we are going to start working on some phonics so we'll be on the road to reading.  Jonah is very excited about that.  But not as excited as he is about making some cookies in the shape of Q this week!   Also, we had Grammy, Pop, and Sr. Teresa visit us this past weekend, and it was wonderful!  Jonah and Caleb had so much fun.  We took some pictures, but they accidentally got erased, so as soon as we receive some pics from Grammy we'll get those up on the blog.  No rush, Grammy, take your time.

So a couple weeks ago we went to a cider mill not too far away.  It was a blast!  Uncle Tom, Aunt Maria, Uncle Joe, and Aunt Melly all came as well, so Jonah and Caleb got to hang out with their cousins!  They had a ball, and the weather was beautiful.  When we were living in FL, this was something we'd often daydream about... visiting a cider mill.  Now the dream has come true, and we are so thankful.  It was a great time.  There are many cider mills around here, so we're going to try out a few more during this fall season.  Cider mills, here we come!  I put together just a short slideshow of our time there.  Check it out.

These pictures are the following:
1- one part of the main living room
2- Front entrance
3- Front yard (just a part of it)
4- Front entrance
5-Walkway leading to the front
6-Front Foyer (Anna is standing in the Formal Dining room taking a pic of us)
7- Now I am taking a picture of Anna from where Jonah and I were standing (We want to remove the carpet, put laminate wood floors and also paint...WHAT A COLOR?)
8- Main stairway going upstairs. The stairs are right after the foyer and the start of the main living room
9- Three car garage (See the graffitti? We would need to paint this area)
10- Walking into the Master bedroom. The master bedroom is on the main level
11- Master Bathroom
12- Walking from living room to kitchen
13,14,15---Kitchen
16-View of the backyard from the Kitchen
17- steel beam in the garage. I assume that means this is a well built house; but I don't know
18- Anna and Jonah going up the stairs
19- One of the bedrooms. They stripped the carpet and painted the floor and walls. We would need to get new carpet in the whole house.
20- the main bathroom on the 2nd floor (2 full baths and 2 half baths in the house)
21- Shower in main bathroom: again, you can see that it all needs attention to detail and cleaning
22- View from the stairs to the main living area. You can get an idea of how high the ceiling is. There are 2 fans in that room
23- Jonah in another bedroom (4 bedrooms total)
24- View of the side of the house and the 3 car garage
25- Go down to the basement
26- The main room in the basement. Again, carpet needs to be replaced
27- Another room in the basement. That can either be a bedroom (5th bedroom) or a play room/classroom
28- View of the back from the basement (walk-out basement)
29- Other view of the main room in the basement. It is  a nice size
30 and 31: view of the back yard from the deck
32 and 33: View of the backyard (the propety line goes back to that pond area and then everything to the left. It is about an acre.

There are also 3 more rooms in the basement: One is  a decent sized storage room with shelves, another is a room that can be remolded and finished in a few years and then the 3rd is where the furnace is and it is very big. In fact, the previous owners have an outlined basketball key. I guess they played basketball inside.
