Jonah says the funniest things these days!  Here are seven of the latest...
1---
(Dressed up for Church the other day, talking to Andrea and Marlee):  "Look at this fine shirt I'm wearing!"

2---
(Sharing his crackers with Caleb):  "Mommy, did I make God happy?"

3---
(Running across the living room):
Me: "Jonah, how did you learn to run so fast?"
Jonah:  "Daddy taught me that.  When I was little."

4---
(Had recently lost the marble he always plays with and was typing at the computer):
"Dear St. Anthony, come around, something is lost and can't be found.  Mommy, where is my marble?"

5---
(While all of us were sitting around in the living room the other night):  "Daddy, tell mommy that you love her!"

6---
(As the pizza delivery man was leaving our house the other night, Jonah stood at the door and said to him):
Jonah:  "I can run so fast!"
Pizza guy laughed...
Jonah:  "Ok, bye, I love you!"

7---
Jonah:  "Mommy, was Rita in your belly?"
Me:  "Yes, she was."
Jonah:  (remembering his visit to the hospital):  "Did your bed have buttons on it?  Did the bed move up and down?"  (This is, of course, what he remembers about coming to the hospital!!!)
Me:  "Yes, it did have buttons on it."
Jonah:  "Someday when I'm big and I have a baby in MY belly, I can have buttons on MY bed!"

Picture
It's been a long time since I've posted... so I've included lots of "outdated" pictures!  I'll start with the most recent, though.  Here's a picture of Jonah which I took before he left for 9am Mass yesterday with Luke.  We've been talking about Mass for the past couple weeks.  Jonah has been learning all about it- things he'll see there, what to do, how to behave, etc... We even made a checklist of different things he could look for when he's there, like candles, statues, altar, tabernacle, etc... You can see here that he's holding a special bag he got to take with him.  Grammy sent it, and it's got a little Bible in it, a prayer book, a book about Mass, and a couple rosaries.  Luke said Jonah did a great job at Mass.  They sat up near the front, and Jonah got to see many things we talked about.  He whispered, read his books, and listened.  In fact, when the priest was reading the Gospel and said, "They gathered at Peter's house," Jonah looked up, turned to his dad and said, "Peter Pan?"  At least we know he was listening!

Here are some pictures from this past weekend... Luke and I both got to hold our Goddaughter Sarah Erickson.  Jonah is sporting his new pajamas in the next one, and also there's a few from Rita's bath.  Jonah was a great helper there- he washed her toes!
Last but not least, here's a slideshow of pictures from right after Rita was born, basically Christmas time through the next month... Jonah and Caleb enjoyed their Christmas presents, and actually you'll see a couple pictures of Luke and Joe playing with the matchbox cars and the racetrack- I guess if you're a guy you're never too old for that kind of fun.  :)  Enjoy the pics!

So it's been a while!  I had Rita on the 20th of December, so it's been a busy few weeks.  She was born at 3:51pm on the 20th, and she weighed 7 lbs 3 oz.  She's a little gem, and all the boys love her!  We had her baptized on the 31st of December at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Slovak Catholic Church in Sterling Heights.  The ceremony was beautiful- the priest was Fr. Luigi Gabris, from Slovakia.  He was wonderful!  Anyway, here are a bunch of pictures- some were taken at the hospital the day Rita was born, and some are of the Baptism.  Enjoy!

SNOW

I meant to post these pictures over the weekend... almost every day Luke takes Jonah outside to play in the snow, and I'm not sure which of them enjoys it more.  Caleb has gone out a few times, but you can see what he's doing when he stays with me.  He loves it too!

Here's some more pictures from our time in New Jersey last week.  Some were taken in the yard, and some were at a newly built park close by.  It's actually at the elementary school where Luke went when he was little!  The boys LOVED it.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving vacation in New Jersey with Luke's family.  It was truly blessed and filled with lots of fun and laughter!  Grammy and Pop put a little basketball hoop in the garage, and that was a very popular activity for both of the boys... wait, I should say all three of the boys since Luke greatly enjoyed it too.  :)  They also broke out their bin of matchbox cars, which made Jonah and Caleb really happy.  I think it's safe to say they spent most of their playtime with the cars, especially because they had a little racetrack set up in the living room.  Luke and Jonah spent a lot of time building different racetracks and testing out the cars on them to see which ones were fastest.

Of course we continued reading books, and it's always fun to go somewhere new and read new books we haven't read before.  Jonah got to do a lot of things with Pop, like feed the birds, empty the bucket at the compost pile, ride in his truck, and sit on the tractor.  We also took some walks outside and enjoyed the fresh air.

On Thanksgiving Day, Mary Anne's side of the family came over, and we had a big meal in the afternoon.  Jonah had a little playmate, Owen, who is also 3 years old, and they had a lot of fun together, especially with the cars.  It was wonderful to see the relatives because it's been a while since we've been here!  Oh, and one special moment was when Jonah got to meet Aunt Colleen... she was the purchaser and giver of his best friend Ellie the Blanket.  He got to personally say thank you for Ellie!!!

It was a great Thanksgiving, and we are really thankful we got to spend it with family and loved ones.  We've kept in our thoughts and prayers all those who we could not be with on Thanksgiving.  Hopefully it was a nice week for everyone else, too!

Last but not least, some pictures we took during our time here:

Here are just a few pictures of Luke cuddling with Caleb and Jonah.  Aren't they so cute?!!!  Oh, and Maria lent us the little chair that Caleb loves so much, and he does sit on it every single day.  He's absolutely loves it.
And yesterday we went over to Joe & Mary Ellen's place to help rake their leaves, and it was so much fun.  I don't know who had more fun, the adults or the kids!  It was a beautiful day out, and we were able to get all the leaves raked up and in a big pile at the back of Joe's yard.  As you'll see from the pictures, things sometimes got out of hand!

So last night we were watching the UNC/Michigan State basketball game, which for the first time ever actually took place on an aircraft carrier.   It was pretty neat.  Well, Jonah was watching with us and making his little comments as usual.  President Obama and his wife attended the game, and before it started he spoke.  While he was speaking, Luke said to Jonah:

"Now, Jonah, that is the president talking.  He's the president of the whole United States.  He's in charge of EVERYTHING."

Jonah stared at the television and replied: "Oh, darn it."

That is not an exaggeration at all.  We couldn't believe it.  He's smarter than we originally thought!!!

I guess I never posted these pictures, but this past week we did paint our pumpkins and carve them.  Jonah did most of the painting, and he did a wonderful job!  He was the one who suggested we get a little pumpkin for Rita, so of course I had to take his suggestion.  On Sunday, Auntie Am and Miss Marlee helped us to carve the pumpkins and roast the seeds, which was so much fun!

Last Sunday we took a drive over to Canterbury Village, where we met up with the two Erickson families and Marlee.  It was a lot of fun walking through the Christmas store and checking out some of the other little shops.  The kids enjoyed it, especially when Jonah got to have some ice cream.  Here are a few pictures we took.
